Your intercooler fluid passes through the intercooler slowly and absorbs the hot boosted air, then the surface temp of the intercooler increases and so do the intake temps.\u003cbr\u003eNow let’s smash the fluid through as fast as possible, as that fluid isn’t exposed to the heat for as long the surface temp of the intercooler stays colder and so do the intake temps.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWithout a reservoir tank your entire fluid volume is doing 1 full lap of the system every 2sec, meaning every 2sec your entire fluid volume is multiplying in temperature. With the tank fitted you have well over a minute worth of fluid volume. This then results in a stable “constant” fluid temp for the entire time you are under wide open throttle which keeps your intake temps way down.\u003cbr\u003eIt also provides instant recovery after you get off the throttle as the unused still freezing cold fluid rushes through and knocks your temps straight back down.
